My name is Louise Lightfoot or Dr Delightful, as one child started calling me when unable to pronounce my name! I hold a doctorate in educational and child psychology and I specialise in attachment, trauma issues associated with experiencing difficulties in early life. My main area of work is supporting children’s homes and their residents. I also work with adults who have experienced trauma or neglect in childhood which has gone on to impact them in later life. I understand the physiological and psychological impact of trauma which enables me to support children and adults in a safe and nurturing space.
I believe I not only possess psychological knowledge but am able to translate theories to children and adults regardless of educational level or background. I offer consultations around specific issues, training and solutions focused sessions to enable you or those you are supporting to be their best. I support and behaviour needs and use creative methods.
Having overcome economic and social barriers myself and through my own personal struggles with mental and physical health I am an expert by experience and can authentically talk about real issues in a real way.
