As a Clinical Psychologist and academic with over 10 years of experience, I work with adults who have experienced trauma as children and/or adults. Trauma often sits at the heart of people's difficulties, yet it can express itself in different ways (including through a variety of psychiatric diagnoses) and therefore careful consideration of impacts on people is needed as well as what approach is then needed to address it. I offer trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy focused on helping you make sense of your experiences, develop greater emotional stability, find more effective ways of coping, and to live a life beyond trauma.
I have a small private practice offering expert psychological assessment and therapy for adults, with an emphasis on treating trauma. In addition to my core training in Clinical Psychology, I have post qualification training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (University of Oxford), EMDR, and Metallisation Based Therapy (Anna Freud Centre).
Common problems I work with include anxiety, depression, PTSD, overwhelming emotions, OCD, feeling disconnected from the world and yourself, and problems in relationships, amongst others. I emphasise a considered and methodical approach to therapy, which is collaborative, matched to your pace, and with a clear focus to the work.
