Being a parent or young person today can be challenging and stressful and at times we all could do with support. As a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist I have the specific training and experience to understand the issues you are facing and help you discover new ways of looking at situations and dealing with them. Psychotherapy sessions are confidential, so you can talk about things you might not feel comfortable discussing with anyone else. The aim is to help you find better ways to cope and to bring about changes in the way you think and behave that will improve your quality of life.
As an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I can differentiate between common childhood problems and those that need more specialist intervention. As well as talking things through together, I can also use other approaches such as art, music, stories and meditation/relaxation depending on the age and preferences of the young person.
I strongly believe in working constructively with the whole family and other agencies involved, such as schools, in order to optimise positive outcomes and changes for everyone involved. I will often work with the parents and siblings as well as the child themselves.
