Hello, I’m Domonique, a BAPT-accredited Child Therapist with over 16 years’ experience supporting children and young people, including 9 years providing therapeutic support to children and families. I’ve worked across schools, the NHS, charities and private practice, helping children aged 4–18 navigate emotional, behavioural and life challenges. I also work with parents, offering guidance to better understand their child’s feelings, behaviour and needs, so families can feel more connected, confident and supported.
Every child has their own unique story, and communicate in many different ways. My role is to provide a safe, accepting, and nurturing space where children feel understood, valued, and able to be themselves. Through play, creativity, and therapeutic conversation, I help children explore their feelings and make sense of their experiences.
My approach is person-centred and child-led. I aim to create a trusting relationship with each child, recognising that feeling safe and connected is at the heart of meaningful therapeutic work. I predominantly use Play Therapy but adapt my way of working to suit each child’s individual needs, personality and stage of development.
