I am a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and a Psychodynamic Counsellor of adults. I have worked in mental health settings, with adults and children, for over 28 years - twenty-one of these within the NHS. I am registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) - the gold standard organisation for child and adolescent psychotherapy and one of the few core disciplines and recognised registering bodies for the NHS (CAMHS). I am trained to doctoral level.
I also offer Psychodynamic Counselling to adults and am registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
My specialisms include anxiety, depression, trauma, fostered and adopted children, attachment issues, resilience etc. I have extensive experience supporting parents, foster carers, residential workers, schools and social workers - offering consultation, supervision and training.
I bring to all my therapeutic work a belief that patients and their families must feel safe and respected, not judged. I try to foster a sense of curiosity about the difficulties and challenges that patient face, and do so in a gentle and creative way, so that together we can track patterns of thoughts or behaviours, that often have their roots in childhood.
