Are you feeling lost, lonely, low? Need to talk? Life can be tough; you may feel vulnerable & find it hard to cope right now. Current issues may be difficult to manage, or there may deeper issues that are more complex, and affected you long term. It’s a really brave step to contact a professional therapeutic Counsellor, yet talking to someone outside of your immediate circle of friends and family can be really helpful. Making that first call or email can be difficult, but that first step can be a step into finding genuine support, hope for the future and help to carry on with life.

Hello, my name is Lee Ash. I trust you have found me because you are going through a difficult time and are seeking support and a safe person to share your struggle with. I understand that reaching out to an unfamiliar person can be a challenging experience, so I will do my best to lessen any fears you may have about the counselling process through sharing information about myself and my counselling practice. The first thing I want you to know is that when you contact me I respond. I am very aware that when someone is seeking counselling they don’t want to wait too long for a response. So I make it a priority to make contact ASAP.

Clients access therapy for a multitude of reasons; there may be difficulties at work, challenges in a relationship or a client may have been abused spanning a number of years. My hope with therapy is to explore the roots of issues, to rediscover our innate resilience, to build self-esteem and to help you meet your goals, your hopes, your wishes. Many people access therapy because they want to feel different, to change the emotions they are experiencing, or for others it may be learning to access those feelings that have perhaps been locked away through trauma.

Life isn't a straight forward, easy process, it has its roller coaster of ups, downs and roundabouts, how do we maintain our focus on our everyday lives, we attempt to get on with it, but sometimes it can feel like an uphill struggle against the wind and rain. We become overloaded, overwhelmed, stressed and irritable and sometimes our friends, family and colleagues notice our behaviour before we do. When we do realise that we need support, help, courage, whatever you chose to call it then we are half way there, the rest is looking for someone to share our difficulties and pressures with.

Therapy offers a private and sacred space to think, feel and experience your true self, it explores your needs, it processes feelings, and from this comes a new clarity, and you may feel different, clearer. I sometimes think of it as coming out of the dark woods and into the light. This transforming of the self takes place at first within the therapeutic relationship. Being listened to unfolds a discovery of new insights, which activates the development of inner strength, resilience, resolve, and purpose, as it gradually releases you from the felt wounds you have been carrying, such as, anger, sadness, grief, regret or loss.

Counselling therapy can help support you with many difficulties you may be facing, which are causing anxiety, low mood, low self worth. By working together we can explore the roots of the issues, bring understanding to the here and now, maintain tools and techniques moving forward to attain the goals you wish to achieve. Many clients seek therapy to have a better understanding of themselves, with this knowledge comes power to unearth thoughts, feeling and emotions that may have been masked.

I work as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and I have consulting rooms in Central London and North London. I have more than 25 years’ experience of working in the NHS as well as in independent practice. In my experience people seek therapy for many different reasons. They may be facing a predicament, be anxious, depressed or confused, or feel stuck in repeating patterns of thoughts and behaviour that have adverse effects on their lives. They may have relationship difficulties or questions about their sexuality; they may be finding it difficult to deal with the loss of a person, a position or an identity.

As a CBT therapist and as a midwife, I understand that it can be hard to ask for help particularly when you are pregnant or in the postnatal period (also known as the perinatal period). Many women (& partners) struggle to say they are experiencing anxiety, depression or have doubts or worries about being a parent. It can sometimes feel really hard to admit you are struggling - and this can be particularly difficult during the perinatal period so I understand how important reaching out for help is. But reaching out is the first step towards recovery - of your sense of self, your self worth and your wellbeing.

Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a qualified counsellor who prides myself on being calm, warm and empathetic. I understand that modern living can take its toll and often we feel anxious, low or distressed. Sometimes this can mean that the support we receive from family and friends is just not enough. This is when counselling can help. How I work: I offer a safe and confidential space when it may feel as though no one understands how you feel, and how you feel doesn't make sense. I can provide that extra support and understanding step by step along your journey. Please get in touch to discuss your needs further.

Dissociative Disorders (Amnesia, Multiple Personality) Counsellors
Dissociative Disorders are conditions that involve the breakdown of memory. Dissociation is a mental process that produces a lack of connection in our thoughts, a separation of emotions, physical sensations, memories, actions or even our sense of identity. Most of us experience mild dissociation in our everyday lives. We call it daydreaming, getting lost in a movie or a book, or driving home on autopilot. These examples of dissociation are normal, and are a mild form of amnesia. Dissociation can become a disorder when it begins during a person's developmental years and becomes habitual and ingrained. If you're looking for help with dissociative disorders in PL3 or for a PL3 dissociative disorder counsellor these professionals provide therapy for dissociative disorders. They include dissociative disorder counsellors, dissociative disorder psychologists, dissociative disorder psychotherapists and dissociative disorder therapists. They can help with amnesia, memory problems, and loss of recall resulting from emotional trauma.

How can I tell if a counsellor is right for me?
Counsellors and therapists in PL3 are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, you can find CBT Therapists in PL3 who focus on a specific issue, as well as DBT Therapists in PL3 who help clients with new skills to manage their emotions and relationships.

If you're seeking a marriage counsellor in PL3 you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counselling or couples counselling in PL3 and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counselling in PL3 or family therapy in PL3.
