About
I am an experienced counselling psychotherapist in psychodynamic psychotherapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I work with young adults (16+), adults and couples. I offer a confidential and non-judgemental environment, encouraging a safe space to enable you to explore and share difficult thoughts and memories. This maybe the first time these memories are shared with someone that shows empathy and understanding to the feelings attached to these. I specialise in Anxiety, Trauma, Bereavement, Depression and Couples Therapy.
Psychodynamic is a form of counselling that enables you to understand the way you relate to others, to the world, and to yourself, so thereby learning a way to develop a more satisfying and sustainable way of living. CBT focuses on challenging and altering unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviours, thereby improving emotional balance.
Central to my working is that the relationship is the key between myself and the client, in fostering a collaborative and trusting relationship, together we can embark on a journey of exploration, understanding and acceptance. During the pandemic I undertook the BACP training to enable me to work safely to supports clients whilst working online.
