Therapy can be extremely daunting. Through a compassionate and empathic listening, I aim to enable us to explore your patterns and concerns at a safe pace. I use a mind/body, somatic understanding approach, linking the held-in emotions become processed, and how adaptations have helped you, but no longer serve you any more. I specialise in working with relational difficulties and trauma, and how these are the foundation of most anxiety, depression, loss, and attachment relationship issues, often being the core beliefs and unmet needs of childhood. From these areas, we experience a range of symptoms such as anxiety.
My focus will be on helping you understand what is happening with you, not what is wrong with you, how to bring about change. Trauma creates anxiety, self harm, dissociation, and addictions of all kinds. I use a range of modalities, including: Compassionate Inquiry, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR. Plus others
I am deeply committed to offering you an honest, respectful, safe and confidential relationship, in which we can work together. I feel that whichever approach or model of counselling being used, empathy is vital to build a connection which allows trust, acceptance and a feeling of being safe to help process the healing.
