About
Hi, I'm an integrative counsellor and I draw from relational approaches including person centred, with the aim to create conditions of trust, safety and honesty and a collaborative working relationship where clients might feel free to establish and work towards their own goals. I value difference and individuality and may draw on a number of other approaches to best fit the person or the presenting issue. Counselling may feel like a big step and it can feel challenging but it can also help to enhance self-awareness, self-understanding and begin to create the possibility for different choices, or simply self-acceptance.
I have experience within domestic and sexual abuse services, university and college counselling services and private practice. Collectively, issues have included bereavement, relationship difficulties, anxiety, trauma, issues around shame, depression, self –esteem, confidence, trust and work-related stress.
I endeavour to support clients to process experiences and feelings, to develop understanding, acceptance and to feel more able to manage emotions and move forward with their life and goals. I strive to build a relationship that is non judgemental, and built on trust, honesty and safety.
