My personal philosophy in life and within my counselling practice is that the human condition is often very difficult to navigate, and we are the expert in our own world. I offer an environment that is conducive to learning about oneself and how we integrate or negotiate who we are in the world. I have an innate belief that given the right environment ( an environment empathy and non-judgmentalism known as unconditional positive regard) Given this environment I believe enables people to develop that innate capacity to heal, grow and develop to a more authentic, self-nurturing sense of self
I use a number of different ways to access that inner self or self-awareness and can do this through a number of varied modalities that include cognitive (through language /talking therapy set within a integrative framework ) more experiential (art, colour,) meditation (guided and unguided) immediacy/ encounter mindfulness. My sessions are very ‘client led
I believe that in this space we work together to create an opportunity to embrace self-development as well as self awareness with an aim to promote self-healing and growth around all issues including bereavement, depression, anxiety addiction as well as many others. At times in our lives we all feel that we need to address and reflect on issues
