As my client I will work alongside you in a caring and non-judgemental way. I will strive to understand and make you feel less alone in what you facing. To reveal yourself openly and honestly takes the rawest kind of courage and I will respect with confidence what I am told. I have a lot of experience in working with anxiety, depression, trauma (childhood and sexual) and bereavement, both with adults and adolescents. I am also a Clinical Supervisor which means I supervise the work of other counsellors. In addition I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) Europe Accredited Practitioner with EMDRIA.
I work mainly in a person centred way but have an additional qualification in CBT which allows me to work in more flexible way to best suit my clients needs. Person centred therapy is the key to personal growth and allows the individual to blossom and feel truly at ease. I also use EMDR which is a treatment used effectively in the treatment of Complex PTSD.
My practice is run from an office situated in my garden, which is located next to a wood. It is a peaceful and tranquil setting and gives my clients the opportunity to have a 'walk and talk' therapy rather than sit face to face if that is preferred. I also work creatively to help 'expression' as sometimes I realise the words can be hard to find.
