Hi, I'm Dawn. I can help you with the overwhelming feelings of anxiety, stress, grief or anger. In particular, I can support you to understand the impact of childhood experiences on your adult life. If you struggle to understand or self-regulate your emotions, or if you are feeling stuck, you may be feeling as if you are not yourself. I work with clients who have experienced trauma such as childhood sexual abuse and domestic abuse. However, I can also help with the after effects of any challenging life experience. I will work alongside you to help you understand and overcome these difficulties.
I help you to understand and manage your emotions, thoughts, behaviours and physical sensations. We work together to understand the origins of the issues you are experiencing. Then, we move forward by exploring ways that help you to feel more like the person you want to be.
I have personal experience of bereavement, family terminal illness, sexual identity confusion, military to civilian transition difficulties, childhood parental estrangement and changing life roles as I've aged. I offer a free 15min consultation initially. I think this is really important so that you can see if we're a good fit as we begin your counselling.
