We dream of success, money, holidays, happy families and good health, but life doesn't always go to plan. When we are hit with the unexpected, a loss, a relationship that goes wrong, unbearable work pressures, troubled by unresolved experiences of the past or hopelessness about the future, our mental health is affected. We can feel sad, overwhelmed, fearful. We lose confidence and self-esteem. Our physical health suffers too and we can become dependent on medication, alcohol or other non-prescribed solutions. Counselling is a way out, providing support in a confidential, non-judgmental, understanding and empathetic relationship.

My training lets me call upon many different counselling techniques that I can combine with life experience to provide meaningful and practical support. In 40 years of management, I worked with many people who faced tough mental health challenges. From stress, anxiety and depression, to challenges around pregnancy and parenting, illness and bereavement, relationships, addiction and even suicide. My desire to help people led me to becoming a counsellor, and now, fully qualified, this is my prime focus.
