Hello, I am David, an experienced qualified Pluralistic counsellor. I believe no single counselling approach or modality will fit every client and presenting issue as we are all unique individuals with our own stories to tell. I tailor my approach to you, using the therapeutic modalities that best address and resolve your problems, with your collaboration and agreement. At the heart of my counselling style is the belief clients heal through exploring how their issues arose, where these come from, and crucially how to make the changes needed to feel at ease with themselves and make lasting improvement. I help clients do this.
I specialise in trauma and unhelpful coping behaviours arising from attachment, co-dependency, addiction, self-worth, and relationship issues, including softening our 'inner' critical voice. I work with how past impacts the present and how to make meaningful and lasting changes. My approach is gentle, warm, compassionate, non-judgemental and supportive.
I 'hold a space' for you, providing a safe, protective and confidential environment in which you can openly share your concerns and whatever is troubling you, and together work to resolve them. I am authentic and open in our sessions, and willing to walk beside you and help you become the person you feel you were meant to be, through healing and growth.
