Having the support of a family member or friend can be invaluable but sometimes we may limit what we say to them for fear of being judged or worrying about over-burdening them. Having someone impartial to talk to without these barriers can therefore be extremely helpful. My take on counselling is pretty straightforward. It’s about providing a safe space for you to talk about anything you feel is troubling you or holding you back from moving forward. A space in which you can explore thoughts and feelings, try and make sense of what’s going on and find some tools and answers to make some positive steps.
Counselling is a collaborative process and fostering a trusting relationship between counsellor and therapist is key. I don’t have a magic wand and I’m not an expert on your life but I can listen without judgement, perhaps offer a different perspective or occasionally a gentle challenge.
I offer face to face and remote video counselling and my practice is based in the centre of Leicester. I am happy to work both long or short-term with clients. Sorry, I don’t offer telephone counselling. If you think you might be interested in us working together please get in touch for an informal chat.
