In counselling we talk about psychological, emotional and behavioural problems that you wish to address. These conversations lead to better self-understanding, new ideas and an opportunity to shift perspective, ultimately leading to more contentment in life and more adaptive behaviours. These are therapeutic conversations which can console us or provoke us to change old unhelpful attitudes and behaviours. The work is done at an easy pace with no coercion. You are the expert on your own life and you set the agenda.
My study of psychology has led me to embrace the theories of transpersonal psychology which honour both human science and human spirituality. I am interested in soul and spirit and the deeper mysteries we encounter on the journey of healing. Our problems are a part of our heroic journey and our struggle with them forms the meaning of our lives.
