Relationships can provide us with support and also lead to stress, conflict and misunderstandings. That's why they're at the centre of systemic psychotherapy. I meet with people to think about the changes they want to see within significant relationships in their lives. It’s important that you come to therapy feeling confident that you won’t be judged and that your strengths will be recognised. My role is to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic space, where people can explore their worries and problems, and find ways to move forward with their lives. I'll sometimes discuss strategies that others have found helpful.
I have over 18 years’ experience working in the public sector. I am currently employed in specialist mental health services in the NHS as a senior systemic psychotherapist, where I undertake therapy, consultation, teaching and supervision. I have additional training in a variety of approaches to parenting, conflict resolution and managing difficult emotions.
I provide therapy for individuals, couples and adult family members. I can help with a wide range of difficulties, and have a particular interest in working with couples and those who identify as LGBTQ+. We will review progress every 6 sessions to ensure that you continue to find the sessions helpful. Typically, therapy will last for between 8 to 20 sessions, although this can be different dependent on the unique hopes and expectations of each individual.
