Hi
I am an IFS (internal family systems) psychotherapist specialising in Trauma, addictions and eating disorders. My initial training and work was using the Gestalt, TA and humanistic person centred approaches, these will still play a part in the work I will do with you as we get to know and help the parts wounded by life events.
These parts of you may send flashbacks, dreams or uncomfortable feelings from the depths of your mind and your history, or you may experience some behaviours that you just can't understand or seem to control at times, there is always a reason for this.
IFS therapy is a gentle but dynamic method
That care and compassion you can show to others you will be able shine on the wounded or managing parts of of you that you have pushed down and away, healing them and allowing them to be free.
You will always be in control of our sessions and my only wish is that you feel safe enough to share what you want when you feel ready to.

During my life I have known physical and psychological pain, this is what motivated me to train as a counsellor and informs my empathic responses. During my time as a counsellor I have helped clients through many challenging and distressing life issues, just a few would be, Anxiety, Stress, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, feelings of shame or guilt.
