I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and for the last 10+ years I have worked at University College London Hospital specialising in working with young people, parents and families affected by a range of psychological difficulties within the context of medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes & functional difficulties. As a clinical psychologist I am trained and work with a range of psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Relational psychotherapies - this includes humanistic, existential and psychodynamic. I am also fully trained in EMDR and use this approach extensively with clients.
The first session is a chance to get to know you and establish your hopes for the work. The relationship is the most important ingredient to successful therapeutic work and the initial session is also about ensuring safety and establishing this connection.
