Hi there, my names Dane, I am an animal lover, Northerner, book-worm, rock climber... and Clinical Psychologist! I it can be hard to find a therapist who you can click with. My work follows a Narrative Therapy approach. I also bring elements of Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy where needed. I am trained in 3 Trauma therapies (EMDR, NET & Tree of Life). For Relationships, I blend System Theory with EFT/NVC/The Gottmans Approach with a twist of Queer Theory. There’s no single map for being human, I take a ‘many paths up the mountain’ approach, adapting the route to suit you.
I make 3 promises to my clients: 1) They will be seen in the context of their lives... the problem is the problem, the person is the person. 2) We will use the words, terms and language that feel right by you. 3) We will figure out your values as a means to know how to go forward, like a ship changing course in a storm.
I also offer an optional 10-minute phone chat for you to get a sense of whether we're a good fit. I will provide a free welcome pack with resources and answers to common questions to help you make an informed decision.
