Having worked for a number of years with adult and child mental health privately and within the NHS, I strongly believe in supporting the client using a holistic and creative approach. I have extensive experience working with Trauma, addiction, Eating Disorders and their commorbities. Through the use of my art therapy background and systemic training I support clients to explore the role of their behaviours, the core issues beyond those behaviours and through compassion and empathy guide them to develop positive coping strategies, acceptance and self-growth.
Art Therapy can help in expressing feelings and experiences through a different pathway, allowing one to gain insight into areas that may be otherwise blocked. Group art therapy offers an alternative path into relating with others with similar experiences and struggles. It offers a safer way of communicating and relating- through art making.
No prior experience is required (with art or with therapy). My goal is to support you to connect with the creative side of you away from judgement and criticism and to invite you to explore and play with the art materials.
