Sometimes we feel stuck or lost. Life at times can leave us feeling overwhelmed or overburdened. Low mood might be weighing you down or anxiety and stress exhausting you. A relationship with someone you care about may be too much to bear. You may feel haunted or held back by experiences you have had, such as loss or trauma. Or you might just not be feeling yourself and can’t figure out why. All of these experiences, as hard as they may be to face, are perfectly human. And it is every bit as human, and wonderfully healthy, to want to feel something better. Sometimes we need help to find this.

At Yorkhill Childrens’ Hospital, Cross House Paediatic Unit and Glasgow Royal Infirmary, I helped children and adults manage illness, pain and invasive treatments. In Maternity & Neonatal Services, I supported couples during pregnancy, after traumatic birth and loss and supported families with babies in SCBU and ICU. I've worked in Adult Services, both in community mental health services and alongside the medical profession in hospitals. I worked for more than six years at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery and Burns unit supporting individuals with poor body image, changes in functioning due to illness or injury and PTSD.

Hi my name is michelle and I am aware Choosing to start therapy can often feel daunting and terrifying. I understand this journey, both from a personal and from a theoretical perspective. So, I just want to say thank you for putting yourself out there, even know you may have feelings of apprehension.
