My name is Michelle. I have over 8 years of experience working with young people & families who have been impacted by sexual trauma. I have worked in schools and the community as a counsellor supporting children with a wide range of issues. I have an MSc in Children & Adolescent Psychotherapy, BSc in SW, Certificate in sandplay, & EMDR. I am passionate about creating a safe and nurturing environment where individuals feel safe and comfortable enough to explore their thoughts and feelings through a trusted therapeutic relationship. I utilise different creative and therapeutic approaches alongside play and talk therapy & EMDR.
I offer creative approaches, EMDR & talk therapy to children & young people age 4-25 Although my specialist area is sexual trauma. I also support individuals with a wide range of other issues ie anxiety, loss, bullying & behavioural issues. As a creative therapist I am extremely flexible in my approach and adapt to meet the needs of my clients.
As a complex trauma survivor. I understand that it can be difficult to put into words thoughts, feelings & experiences. Creative approaches offer a sense of safety & can help with expressing feelings. I also offer EMDR for anyone aged 9 and over. I passionate about ensuring that people are given the right support to heal from what is troubling them.
