I have worked therapeutically with children and young people for 19 years based in a therapeutic residential community, a school, and for the Local Authority. I have experience working with trauma, anxiety, relational issues, behavioural difficulties, depression, low self esteem or self confidence, stress as well as other experiences and needs.
I'm passionate about giving children and young people the space to find their own voice and build their autonomy, and I am a firm believer in the transformational power of a therapeutic relationship.
I'm a trained and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with an MA in integrated Systemic Therapy (iST). I provide 1 to 1 talking therapy for children and young people from 5 to 18 years of age to help them process and work through their struggles.
Given that my approach is integrated, I am able to bring in aspects of a number of different modalities, understanding that children and young people communicate in different ways. I ensure that I tailor the counselling I provide to meet the needs of each child or young person - this includes play and art-based approaches for those who prefer these options.
