I am a Counsellor, Psychotherapist, trauma therapist and EMDR practitioner. I am registered & accredited member of the BACP. My primary way of working aims to work with the individual as a whole, through helping the client understand their thought and emotional processes and reprocesses stuck traumas whilst working on creative better relationships with the parts of themselves. I work with several difficulties, however, I do specialise in trauma work. Being a trauma therapist, I do specialise in PTSD, CPTSD, BPD/EUPD and dissociative responses including DID.
My approach when working with clients suffering with trauma starts with creating safety in the form of the self-soothing, emotional regulation, psychoeducation, grounding and introduction to work on body orientation and working with parts of self. This is to help trauma affected individuals to cope with their emotions prior to and during processing trauma.
As a humanistic therapist, I truly believe that you have what you need to heal already within you, and I am there to help create a a non-judgemental and healing environment. Integrated into my work are several other approaches to therapy, such as EMDR, psychodynamic theory as well as my experience and knowledge of trauma and dissociative responses to trauma
