If you think you may need counselling or psychotherapy, you are not alone. At times we are all faced with confusing or painful situations, feelings of dissatisfaction, anxiety, stress or depression, painful losses, traumatic or unhappy memories, difficult decisions or the need for change. My way of working is relational, conveying warmth, empathy and compassion for my clients, so I will not analyse you, judge you or try to impose my values and beliefs on you but I will offer you my full attention and respect your individuality. In essence, my aim is to encourage you to trust, accept and value yourself, strengthening self-esteem.
I am fully qualified as a counsellor and psychotherapist. There is a great deal of overlap between these 'talking therapies' and the skills used are very similar. Both can help to deal with problems in a fresh way. I originally trained as a counsellor then undertook substantial further training (Masters Degree) and became a UKCP psychotherapist in 2005.
I can help you to explore your difficulties and provide you with the support you need to find your own answers, in a safe, confidential space. Everyone has the capacity to cope with crisis, resolve problems, develop personal insight and make decisions but having support and encouragement when the going gets tough can make a huge difference.
