The 'everyday experiences of life' can present many challenges. It can be valuable to take time to talk about feelings of anxiety, low mood, anger, worry or relational issues, or habits or behaviours that you would like to move on from. I am committed to helping people develop and achieve what is important to them, in accordance with their values and beliefs. Talking can help us to climb up above an issue and look down on it, like viewing the terrain of our lives from a high vantage point. This new perspective can suggest new ways round obstacles and new ways forwards.
I have had extensive training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, narrative and systemic approaches. This allows me to tailor an approach to the individual or family. Work can be focused and short term or more exploratory and longer term, according to individual need, preference or situation.
I try to help people access their own knowledge and expertise about their lives, while also sharing knowledge and expertise that I have gained over the years.
