About
I offer help in understanding and overcoming problems with anxiety and mood; work stress, low mood, relationship issues, fears, phobias, ptsd, depression. I work in a collaborative flexible way with clients within a CBT framework. I offer flexible and convenient appointments in private, quiet and comfortable rooms with easy parking. I studied at Cambridge and did postgrad Clinical Psychology in Wessex. I have worked in many different NHS settings, a University, with a Police Force and with various companies. I work as an Expert Witness for people injured in accidents etc.
I think I have a very detailed understanding of the normal psychological processes involved in anxiety and mood difficulties, and how we unwittingly can build our problems over a period of time by the ways we think about our feelings and by the behavioral strategies we adopt hoping they will make us feel better.
When we have a psychological problem it is easy to feel alone, to feel ashamed and to think that no one will understand. The first and most important thing we need to do is to reach out and begin talking to someone who will listen and not judge.
