Hello! I work with people from all walks of life, including individuals and couples. As humans we are incredibly complex, each carrying our own unique stories, anger, sadness, loss and pain. If you are experiencing imbalance in your life, self-sabotaging behaviors, not feeling ‘good enough’ or ‘triggers’ from past experiences, such as abuse (physical, emotional, sexual or religious), I can support you in an authentic way. In a compassionate holding, you will feel seen, heard and validated. Any negative beliefs and stuck emotions can be explored to support you in finding freedom and living a more fulfilled and peaceful life.

We all have the potential to lead fulfilling lives but sometimes we can feel confused, lose direction and become unsure which way to turn. I can offer you a supportive and confidential space where we can explore any concerns or issues that may be troubling you and gently address difficult feelings, free of any judgement. Together, we can help you move forwards, create changes in your life and develop greater self-understanding. In couples' therapy sessions I also work with you and your partner to explore and understand difficulties in your relationship and help you find a way through issues that might be causing conflict.

My aim is to provide you with a warm open and confidential space for you to explore any concerns that may be troubling you free from the fear of judgement in what you 'feel' you would like to bring to counselling. I will ensure you are listened to and heard with respect and understanding. Together we can work through any concerns identified so that hopefully you will feel confident to go forward with a more positive outlook of yourself and your life. Therapy is very individualised and I believe it is important to ask 'you' what it is that will help you to move to a more accepting place.

I believe that you have the capacity to grow and develop, you are the expert in your life, but sometimes it is useful to have support along that journey and that is what I aim to offer. I provide a judgement free and confidential space to unpack life and it's complexities together, either in person or online.

My name is Talya. At the heart of how I work is the belief that everyone's choices and experiences are understandable if we give the time and attention to understanding them. When we are supported it becomes more possible to gain insight into the ways we feel limited, to acknowledge and release the feelings that can keep us stuck and to find new ways of being. Therapy can provide a chance to heal from the hurts that accumulate within us and help us find the resources to meet life fully. Through our time together, you may find that new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you become possible.

All of us need to find resilience at times of stress, or just to deal with day to day issues that may cause us anxiety and impact on the quality of our lives. Life events such as bereavement or change affect us in different ways with no simple, right solutions. I offer a way to share and resolve issues within a non-judgemental therapeutic relationship.

Hello, I'm Rachael. I provide a safe, secure place, where you will be able to talk about your thoughts and feelings in confidence, without the fear of being judged. I know the thought of having counselling can be daunting, but I will help you to feel comfortable and relaxed. All my clients and their issues are extremely important to me, so there is no such thing as a client or an issue being ‘unimportant,’ or a problem being too ‘minor’. The sessions are all about you...

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
