I am a qualified counsellor and complementary health practitioner and tutor. I studied counselling and addiction at the University of Bath and I also have wide ranging life and work experience. Most of us can have times in life when it seems as though we can't cope and we may feel worried, fearful or confused. At these times it can be helpful to give ourselves the gift of speaking to someone outside of our family or friendship group. Someone we can be honest with, without fear of judgement or opinion.
I approach all clients in a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental way and have additionally been a holistic practitioner and tutor for over 30 years. I have a special interest in adoptees and the issues adoption can bring. I work with all individuals, regardless of what they are perhaps struggling to deal with.
Regarding addiction - it is often referred to as a symptom or disease. A dis - ease with life - something many people can relate to. Our sessions will involve exploring this dis - ease and how to move forward, utilising and building on resources and healthy coping strategies. I offer a free 15 mins chat/Zoom call.

Group Therapy for Those in Recovery from Addiction

Group starting in 2025. In person or online or both. Contact me for details. Getting into recovery can be both wonderful and challenging. Interpersonal Group Therapy focuses on our relationships and how we relate to each other. We can discover our "blind spots" and why our relationships may not be ideal. Being with like minded individuals who "get it" can be both healing and nurturing. Group therapy differs from 12 Step/AA/SMART recovery meetings and is not aligned to any particular fellowship group. It is also a low cost way to do therapy. A commitment is made to attend regularly and to be sober.
