As a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist my main focus is helping clients understand and manage their problems within this framework. CBT is an active therapy, present focused, collaborative and structured allowing the clients to become ‘their own therapist’. This type of therapy empowers the client to take responsibility for their own therapeutic journey, acquiring the skills and techniques to maintain changes made in therapy for the long term. I adhere to the standards of conduct, performance and ethics required by my accrediting body the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of settings, therapeutic communities, schools, occupoccupational health, prisons, secure units, hospitals and the community in primary care. This has allowed me to gain a broad knowledge and experience of human nature and the difficulties there in.
I am a fully accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (www.BABCP.org), a member of the Association of Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS). I am registerI work 1-1, with couples, offer group programmes / workshops to the general public or organisations. I offer face to face, online and telephone treatment.
