About
A great deal of my practice is focused on supporting individuals going through challenging times in their lives due to anxiety, depression and those having difficulty in finding direction. I have particular experience supporting people suffering from chronic or terminal illness and with bereaved people, exploring the many complex issues which arise at such times. I am very comfortable and able to work with clients who have concerns about sexual identity and sexuality. Throughout covid I developed the skills to offer therapy online, however, having returned to working in person, this is definitely my preferred way of working.
I offer a relational, developmental approach to therapy: through our early relationships we each develop coping mechanisms which can fail us precisely at the time we need them most. Through developing a safe, open relationship in psychotherapy, we can explore how you cope. This reflection can help you adapt and reinforce your coping mechanisms.
Coming for therapy or counselling can be difficult: Sharing our story with a stranger can not only feel scary, it can make our pain and discomfort seem more real and feel more intense. I provide a strong therapeutic relationship, in which we can explore your concerns in a safe, non-judgemental environment.
