I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and have been trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (which tends to focus on problem focused and shorter term work), psychodynamic therapy (which tends to focus on longer-term work) and person centred therapy. Whatever the approach, it is important to have a good working therapeutic relationship. I will endeavour to hear, listen and understand you. In my view, therapy is about having a person outside your life, who is able to work alongside you, to allow you have experience of working with adults with depression, anxiety, and relationship problems.
I have experience of working with adults with depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. I have a special interest in working with people who are living with cancer, and neurological difficulties, such as multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. I also have experience of working with people dementia and intersex conditions.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Before I trained as a counselling psychologist I trained and worked as a general nurse (RGN) and a registered mental nurse (RMN). I worked as an RMN at The Maudsley Hospital for 11 years.
