The pandemic has revealed difficulties such as anxiety, depression, obsessiveness, and feelings of powerlessness to name but a few. Relationships with ourselves, with families and partners have been sorely tested. How we relate to ourselves is the building block for how we relate to others. People tell me that I am a good listener, warm, compassionate, wise with a sense of humour.
I work in a person centred way. Sometimes I teach theory of personal development, share stories, read poetry or personal experience. Clarifying goals and then working towards those goals, with regular reviews, can be important for some but not for others. Working relationally in the present with mindfulnes is I believe, crucial for positive outcomes.
