I am an experienced, qualified counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in an integrative way, which means that I use theories and concepts from different therapeutic models. I believe that psychological problems are seldom caused by just one source or situation, and that therefore a variety of strategies may be useful for achieving the desired outcome. Experience: I have worked in different settings with children, adolescents and adults. In addition to private practice, I have worked as a counsellor within secondary education, Thurrock Mind, St Francis Hospice and KCA (addiction).
Some of the issues that draw people to therapy are depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, abuse, sexuality, sexual problems, physical illness/pain, low self-esteem, phobias, problems at work/college, stress, suicidal feelings, isolation, crisis, anger and feelings of failure. I am experienced in working with each of these.
