I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor who specialises in supporting children, adolescents and their parents. I have worked in the criminal and education system. I am the program lead on a Post Graduate Diploma Training underwritten by the University of East London, writing and delivering lectures and facilitating learning forums to support child counsellors in training. I work clinically one day a week from a small private practice in Sevenoaks. My counselling approach is integrative, which means I draw on various models underpinned by neuroscience, psychodynamic, person centred, systemic, play and talk therapy.
My aim is to support parents, children and young people in navigating difficulties. This can be in the form of life events and/or relational difficulties that can become evident in the parent/child relationship. I offer both parent sessions and one to one sessions for children and adolescents. I aim to offer a cultural sensitive and anti oppressive approach.
Whatever the difficulty facing parents or children is, I aim to support by offering a safe space where these difficulties can be thought about and understood, so that both parents and young people can feel supported in developing their self awareness and their ability to manage difficulties and can move forward to where they can and want to be.
