You may seek therapeutic support for many reasons especially when life throws you a curved ball. Bereavement or loss, trauma, anxiety and depression can all affect us in different ways. When negative thought patterns, behaviours and emotions become too intense it can affect daily life and impact relationships. I offer emotional support that is impartial and non-judgmental, together we will explore the context for your worries by identifying the underlying causes and make real progress towards your goals in a sensitive way. Here at The Psychotherapy Room our aim is to ensure that we provide an accessible service to those who may not be able to afford it in the heart of Derby City Centre. I have an MSc. in Integrative Psychotherapy from Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. I qualified in July 2020. I also have a 19 year background as a Registered Mental Nurse (R.M.N.) in the NHS and a P.G.C.E. in Compassion Focused Therapy (2014). I offer psychotherapy for adults and couples. I work to provide a safe relationship where we can explore things in confidence and safety. I work with developmental childhood trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression,personality/character issues, relationship problems, including at home, at work, with yourself.

I am Miricia, an experienced, fully qualified BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist. I have many years' experience in the mental health field along with formal training that provides me with a solid foundation to practice as an integrative counsellor. I have worked in private practise, businesses, charities, schools and have also featured on BBC Radio Two. In addition to my private practice I have experience in various mental health settings, having worked in the mental health field for the NHS in London, and as a counsellor for various employee assistance programmes and voluntary community counselling services.

I have over 30 years experience working within Forensic and Mental Health Services both within the public and voluntary sector including Civil Service and the NHS. I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy however I have extensive CPD training, which I integrate within my practice including Hypnotherapy, EMDR, Group Analysis and in more recent years with the expansion in neuroscience research I have trained in Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM).
