Some people come to therapy with a specific issue they wish to explore or resolve; others come with no idea where to start, just an inherent sense of ‘stuckness’. Whatever your starting point, I will meet you from a place of deep empathy and compassion, and we will explore your difficulty together.
The common experience amongst clients I work with is shifts begin to occur; perhaps in how they view themselves, perhaps in their relationships or circumstances. Clients tend to feel empowered to make changes, less concerned by the opinions of others, more self-accepting and more able to cope with what life brings.
My approach is person-centred, which means I believe the best way to understand emotional distress is through eyes and experience of the unique person navigating it. From this vantage point it becomes possible to understand human experience and behaviour, and address the source of distress with empathy and compassion.
I am a warm and genuine person, with a wholehearted approach to my work. I am curious, kind, and perceptive, and will take an active role in working together to find a way forward that works for you. I offer a 30minute consultation, free of charge, for you to get a sense of me and how I work, before deciding to work with me.
