Experience of working with depression, anxiety, bereavement, challenging work issues or stressful relationships.
Feeling stuck? Or does life seem exhausting, stressful or unrewarding? If prolonged feelings are causing distress or you feel vulnerable and confused following a specific life event or change, perhaps it's time to share what's happening to try to make sense of things? I will listen carefully to help you gain clarity and find a way forward. If past or present experiences continue to cause concern and you are fed up of feeling the same way, counselling provides an opportunity to be heard and supported.

Having worked most recently with bereaved clients I am interested in the way that bereavement can affect the individual throughout their life, particularly if the stages of grief are not addressed properly.
Pressures throughout our adult lives mount up as we go along. Somehow we manage them and get over them. But every now and then something triggers us into a place whereby we feel disabled in managing them and ourselves. These can can be big or seemingly insignificant triggers causing us to seek help. I have experienced such feelings and sought professional help in the past. It has been 20 years since I qualified as a Person Centred counsellor and trained as a nurse. Since having time out from bereavement support at a hospice, and world events having impacted on all our lives, I am again able to offer myself to support others.

You might be seeking therapy for a number of different reasons. Perhaps you’re finding the world a very uncertain place right now and are feeling overwhelmed. You might want to talk to someone who won’t judge you. Or you might find yourself in a crisis which is difficult to move on from. Perhaps you are looking for a space to have time to reflect on where you have got to in life and provide fresh impetus for personal growth. If you find yourself distressed, confused, seeking a change in direction or simply wanting someone to talk to, I can help. My own experience of therapy has shown me that struggles can be a catalyst for change.

Life can be hard but you don't have to cope alone. Many people hide their sadness, challenges, and turmoils. Asking for help is nothing to be ashamed of. People often feel pressured to bury their true feelings for fear of rejection, judgement and stigma. It's important to realise that you are not alone, there are many people who feel the same way. It is comforting to know we are all together in our feelings of solitude and all we need to do is have the courage to speak to one another. Counselling can help you put aside the brave face you wear for family and friends as it can be difficult to talk openly and honestly with them.

People come to therapy for many reasons: perhaps you feel lonely, or lacking in confidence. You may struggle to control painful thoughts and feelings, or have difficulties in relationships . Perhaps you find yourself behaving in ways that you’re not happy with – and that don’t serve you. Whatever the reasons, therapy can help you make sense of past and present experiences, and offer new ways forward.

Bereavement Counsellors
Grief and Bereavement is the acute pain that accompanies loss. Because it is a reflection of what we love, it can feel all-encompassing. Grief is not limited to the loss of people, but when it follows the loss of a loved one, it may be compounded by feelings of guilt and confusion, especially if the relationship was a difficult one.

If you're looking for a Witney bereavement counsellor, these professionals provide grief therapy and counselling in Witney.
