Everyday life throws up challenges which can effect our emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual state. Therapy provides a safe environment to talk about anything you want to. Exploring issues such as relationship difficulties, physical and mental health concerns, loss, self-confidence and self-esteem can make a real difference. When words are not enough... the creative arts are used alongside talking therapy to give a different perspective and help make sense of your experience. Focusing on understanding your feelings, supporting a healthier, stronger self, and helping to gain a sense of meaning in your life.
As an Art Therapist (Art Psychotherapy) both talking therapy and time with the creative arts is offered, to express, explore and even make a mess if needed. The focus is on inner experience, exploring your feelings, perceptions, and imagination. If you wish to use the arts, I offer traditional art materials, sand tray, clay and printmaking amongst others.
As an integrative therapist, my approach draws on attachment, humanistic and psychodynamic theory. My approach is relational and person-centred, being compassionate and non-judgemental, listening and tailoring sessions to your individual needs. I offer both short and long-term therapy. No previous artistic skills or experience is necessary.
