I trained in psychotherapy at the University of Oxford, specialising in a psychodynamic approach. Psychodynamic theory is based on the belief that not everything that motivates us is clear. Many of our behavioural patterns have been established by significant previous experiences. I believe that untangling these is essential to being able to move ahead.
Therapy might be a space where we could think together about particular issues that concern you, or help you gain a greater level of general self-understanding. With clearer insight into how and why we behave as we do, we can gain greater freedom in how we lead our lives.
I offer short-term and long-term, open-ended therapy, and have experience working with depression, self-harm, abuse, bereavement, and much else. However, therapy is a space for you to discuss whatever you like; you don't need a specific ‘reason’ for counselling. If you think it might be useful for you, feel free to get in touch.
