Within the safety of an empathic, non judgemental relationship, I aim to help people develop a greater understanding of themselves and the difficulties they are experiencing. I work in a flexible way that draws on a variety of theoretical models, and adapt my approach to the individual’s needs and particular goals. This often involves looking at both the current context and past influences, and working with the body to process past trauma, as well as learning strategies that enable people to live more fully in the present. I can offer long term, explorative work or a more focused time limited approach.
I work integratively drawing on a variety of psychological models. Including CBT, EMDR, schema therapy and systemic approaches. I have specialist training in working with trauma, and the impact of trauma on bodily symptoms.
