Hello, I'm Kirsti Willis - an autistic HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist (BAAT). I offer neuro and LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma informed counselling and art psychotherapy to neurodivergent people of different ages (no diagnosis required), couples and families. I also offer advice and support with parenting. Often neurodivergent people feel very anxious, which can result in e.g. frequent meltdowns, as well as sleep issues. They can also struggle with relationships and be low in mood. They are also more likely to be traumatised than a neurotypical person. However, with the right support any situation can be changed for the better.
Counselling with me uses your/your young person's strengths and interests, and creates a safe space where you/your young person feel empowered to make positive changes (gradually and achievably). I also offer art psychotherapy, which can be effective in dealing with deeper issues and trauma. It is particularly useful with children and many autistic people.
I use an individual approach with each one of my clients, making sure we are working in an effective way. So, if you are a neurodivergent person or their partner, parent or family member, please do get in touch, so that we can look at your situation and make a plan accordingly. I work using Zoom, phone, email and texts, or a mix of these, as appropriate.
