Counselling is an opportunity to explore difficult feelings and to talk about personal issues, in an environment that is confidential. To work through difficulties - such as relationships, childhood trauma and bereavement. This can be a tiring and difficult process but it creates the possibility for change and enables us, together, to move towards a more comfortable way of being. Integrative psychotherapeutic counselling is “a combined approach that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations”
I have mostly worked with adults who have mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar and trauma related issues such as PTSD and DID. Whilst living in New Zealand I worked with older adults who had a diagnosis of memory loss. I was available to support the family members who wished to understand how dementia might affect their loved one.
