Therapy offers you the time and space to explore how best to meet the various challenges of life: feeling isolated, stress, anxiety, depression, work issues, relationship problems, sudden life changes, bereavement, trauma, identity or sexuality issues. Therapy is a useful tool for self-development at any stage of your life. I aim to support you as you build insight so you can make good choices as you greet your future. Facing and working through the past can help to clear the way for better times ahead. This can be challenging at times but with the right support the rewards are invaluable.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with experience working with adults and 11-18 year olds. My approach is non-clinical as I want to provide a space where you can be yourself, feel relaxed, and explore you're issues with me in ways you find the most helpful. My approach is very much 'one size does NOT fit all' so you will lead our sessions in ways you find beneficial and I will offer you a variety of techniques and tools which we can work with together towards your goal(s).

I have worked as a therapist for over 8 years in schools and private practice. I aim to create a gentle, creative and nurturing environment where young people feel safe to share things that are worrying or troubling them. A child will naturally communicate something of their ‘inner world’ through creative expression and this can help them externalise, explore and integrate difficult experiences. Some outcomes may be; behavioural change (less outbursts of anger or crying),better emotional regulation (fewer reports of feeling sad or anxious),increased ability to identify and talk about their emotions and better integration with peers.

It’s hard to be human. Sometimes we all need a bit of help. A place to take stock. Work out where we are or process uncomfortable feelings - maybe old traumas that are still causing us problems in a our day to day lives. Improve our relationships and discover what might be holding us back. Recover from grief or change. Challenge ourselves- unblock our creativity - find our flow! Build our sense of ourselves - come out of darkness and find hope. Therapy is a space for you and a relationship that offers support and challenge and skills to make these changes.

My name is Angela and I am a qualified, registered and insured counsellor. Coming to see a counsellor can feel like a big step. Speaking about our struggles is not easy, and can still be taboo in many ways. I feel strongly that people can access support when needed. There is only so much we can manage on our own and sometimes our closest relationships are too close to help us see more clearly. Counselling offers a reflective space to explore aspects of your life or patterns that seem to repeat.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space for you to explore whatever is of concern to you. We can all find ourselves in times of difficulty, whether in a time of crisis, feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, feeling disconnected, struggling to find meaning, or feeling like our true self has become buried. Counselling offers space to slow down and connect with yourself in the presence of another person, to be truly heard and to explore difficult thoughts or emotions. It can enable reflection on helpful or unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and relating, and welcome deeper self-acceptance and self-compassion.

Many people face challenging times in their lives. Perhaps you have an ongoing issue such as depression or anxiety, struggles with angry feelings or addictions. Perhaps you're facing relationship difficulties or work stress. Or you might be experiencing a life event such as divorce, bereavement or redundancy. Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, it's a resilient choice to reach out for support. Having someone neutral and empathic to talk to about distressing feelings or experiences can help bring insights and understanding. And it's this increased self awareness that enables you to make the changes you may be seeking.

Creative Therapy Counsellors
It may look like a craft class, but creative therapy in BN1 is a serious technique that uses the creative process to help improve the mental health of clients. BN1 creative therapy can be used on children and adults to treat a wide range of emotional issues, including anxiety, depression, family and relationship problems, abuse and domestic violence, and trauma and loss. Commonly found in hospitals and community centres, creative therapy programmes are based on the belief that the creative process is healing and life-enhancing. As they paint or draw, a skilled BN1 creative therapist can use the client's works of art and their approach to the process as springboards to help them gain personal insight, improve their judgment, cope with stress, and work through traumatic experiences.

How can I tell if a counsellor is right for me?
Counsellors and therapists in BN1 are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, you can find CBT Therapists in BN1 who focus on a specific issue, as well as DBT Therapists in BN1 who help clients with new skills to manage their emotions and relationships.

If you're seeking a marriage counsellor in BN1 you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counselling or couples counselling in BN1 and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counselling in BN1 or family therapy in BN1.
