You may have a child struggling with being at school, or perhaps you find yourself constantly at loggerheads with them. We all believe that childhood should be a time of simple happiness, but in fact this is a time of enormous developmental challenge, and many things can make it hard for children and adolescents to tread the path towards a resilient, positive, independent adulthood.
As a specialist child and adolescent psychotherapist with a background in teaching and family support, I have a breadth of experience working with children and adolescents and their families. I am trained to listen and observe in order to get alongside my young clients and help them and their families understand what is going on and find a way forward.
Our wishes and hopes for our children can make it hard to see a clear path through a problem. Being a parent is one of the toughest jobs around and there is never a shortage of confusing opinions about how to do it, but it can be hard to ask for help.
