Perhaps events in the past are causing distress or you want to live more freely and fully. Traumatic experiences have a different neurological route, can become inaccessible to memory and cause a range of problems such as physical pain, anxiety, depression or addictions. I have been providing therapy that helps refugees and asylum seekers to come to terms with multiple traumas and rebuild their lives by emotional management and building new narratives about their experience. As a therapist for the Probation Service, I have helped people get their lives back on track through therapy that traces the origins of their behaviours.

My main model of practice is Relational using psychoanalytic ideas and I have specialist knowledge in PTSD from research for an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have also attended training courses for processing trauma and safe trauma practice for example from therapists who worked with survivors of the 7/7 2005 London Underground attacks.

I work from a modern therapy room in the setting of a former working Mill in the centre of Leeds. Together we can build a therapeutic relationship that will provide you with the space you need for exploration and reflection to live a more fulfilled and engaged life.
