I work with both adults and young people who have chosen to come to counselling for a wide variety of reasons - for example, to explore their anxiety, relationship difficulties, depression, stress, and trauma.
I believe that by increasing our understanding of ourselves we can make better sense of our experiences, both in the past and in the present.
I aim to work alongside my clients to help them know about themselves - and their thoughts and feelings - more fully.
Together we will develop an enhanced awareness of the past, discover new choices to be made in the present, and find a greater hope for the future.
As well as general counselling with adults and young people, which makes us the majority of my practice, I have a special interest and experience in working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing gender dysphoria; with neurodivergent clients, especially those who have Autism Spectrum Conditions and/or ADHD; and with the parents of teenagers.
I offer long- and short-term psychodynamic counselling in a modern, purpose built consulting room near Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire. I also work online.
