Hello, my name is Anna Planedin and my main approach is psychodynamic but I am also trained in person-centered practice. I help people find relief and movement from a place of feeling 'stuck.' I specialize in working with chronic pain, loss, trauma and sex/sexuality. I view therapy as a process of helping you listen to your gut feelings, find safety and containment and feel less alone in overwhelming experiences. It is my hope that through speaking about difficult or taboo feelings with me, you will feel understood and accepted, and that over time you feel more durable in how you respond to difficulty.
I aim to provide an open, accessible and compassionate space. Psychodynamically, I pay attention to unconscious relational processes between us and find links between what feels distressful for you in the present and what occured in the past. My person-centered practice involves following your gut feelings and bringing empathy, acceptance and non-judgment.
