Taking the step of contacting a therapist can be daunting: often, people have thought about it for a period of time, before something prompts them to reach out. However, much research has shown that therapy can be an effective way of solving many problems, whether they are about relationship problems, work problems, social fears or shyness, general presentations of depression or anxiety, or more specific mental health related symptoms, or troubling memories from the past, including childhood trauma. Therapy can also help with existential life issues or questions related to identity: who am I, and what do I really want?
I am Doctor of Counselling Psychology, registered with the HCPC, and a UKCP accredited integrative psychotherapist. I have worked in the NHS and other healthcare settings for over ten years, treating a wide range of presenting problems, including addictions, and complex trauma. My research focuses on the treatment of early attachment trauma
My practice provides a safe, empathic and non-judgmental space for you to explore your questions. I offer a free brief initial phone conversation, followed by a first one-off consultation appointment, where we can meet and get to know each other, and you can decide whether you would like to take things forward.
